The Governments of the United Kingdom and Germany have expressed their intention to intervene in the matter of The Gambia v. Myanmar proceedings at the International Court of Justice. Since August 2017, many governments around the world have expressed their support of the Rohingya through humanitarian and relocation aid, public condemnation of the atrocities committed by the junta on a regional and international level, and use of the rule of law to stop atrocities. The United Kingdom and Germany now will join Canada, The Netherlands, and Maldives as intervenors in the ICJ case.

Recently, the International Court of Justice unanimously decided that the case would move forward despite the objections raised by Myanmar.

ARNO also welcomes the fresh round of sanctions that the United Kingdom has placed on the junta.
