On the occasion of 25 August 2026, Rohingya Genocide Day, Advocate Nurul Islam, Chairman of the Arakan Rohingya National Organisation (ARNO), addresses the Rohingya people with a message of remembrance, unity, dignity and hope. In this address, he honours the victims and survivors of the Rohingya genocide, reflects on the continuing struggle for justice and accountability, and calls on Rohingya communities to remain united and committed to their rights and future in their ancestral homeland of Arakan. The speech also highlights the importance of peace, community responsibility, protection of women and children, respect for law and order, and safeguarding Rohingya youth from drugs, violence and exploitation. 25 August is a day to remember those we lost, stand with the survivors, and reaffirm the Rohingya people’s demand for justice, protection, citizenship and a safe, dignified and sustainable return to Arakan.
